Juliet's House on Via Cappello is such a cool spot. The courtyard gets busy but it's worth it. The old town is walkable and full of good food - tried the risotto all'Amarone and wow.
Verona totally won me over
The Arena di Verona is just massive and so well preserved - standing next to it you really feel how old it is. Streets around Piazza Bra are great for an evening walk. Gelato everywhere and all of it good.
Great city break, easy to get around
Compact enough to cover on foot in a weekend but still loads to see. Ponte Pietra over the Adige river is lovely, especially in the afternoon light. Food is genuinely good and not overpriced if you avoid the main squares.
Opera at the Arena - unforgettable
Caught a performance at the Arena di Verona during the opera festival and it was something else. An ancient Roman amphitheater, open sky, thousands of people - nothing quite like it. Book tickets early though, it sells out fast.
Perfect summer city trip
Hot, busy but totally worth it in summer. The historic center is beautiful - lots of narrow lanes, old churches, and little cafes tucked in. Tried the pandoro from a local bakery near Piazza delle Erbe and it was so soft and buttery.
Charming winter stop in northern Italy
Verona in December is quieter and really pretty with the Christmas decorations up. Less crowded than summer, which made wandering around the old streets actually enjoyable. Mulled wine at the Christmas market near Piazza dei Signori was a nice bonus.
